Racine Vocational Ministry offers a five-step program to help participants improve their lives and careers:
Solutions for Success
Four-day training class teaches interview techniques and addresses anger management and other hindrances to productivity
Weekly meetings with a case manager to assist in all aspects of job searching.
Relationship with partner employers helps match participants with appropriate openings.
Follow-up sessions to coach participants on skills they can acquire to further their careers.
RVM works closely with local employers, providing them with motivated, goal-oriented workers. Participants are taught the importance of work ethic and the intricacies of the U.S. business culture. Staff members examine individual cases to find mutually appropriate openings for businesses and participants. Staff places a priority on following up after a hire to ensure a company is satisfied with its new worker.
"HOPES Center of Racine has been privileged to collaborate with RVM from the time we opened our doors in 2008. One of our first employees was an RVM client; he began as a barista, then served as manager of our retail ventures, and is our senior case manager."
~Carol Wester, Development Coordinator HOPES Center of Racine, Inc.
“I would like to express our appreciation for the solid support and assistance Racine Vocational Ministry (RVM) has been to this community. The leader and inspirational guide, Jim Schatzman, has been tireless in his efforts to give those who come to RVM an opportunity for a second chance. We have had a number of opportunities to work with the RVM, and Jim, and to hire some of the young people who have been helped by his efforts. We will continue to do so as we have not been disappointed.Thank you, Racine Vocational Ministry!”
